Fun fact: Madam Zeroni, Yzma, and the signer of the song “Santa Baby” are the same person!
Eartha Kitt (1927-2008) was born in cotton fields in South Carolina as the result of a rape by a white plantation owner. Given away by her mother she moved to New York, dropped out of high school, and was homeless until she was discovered for her singing and performed touring Europe.
What an incredible woman.
I have to reblog…..its Madam Zeroni. I see her picture, i reblog. Not taking any chances
Her being Eartha Kitt is enough alone for me to reblog
Earths Kitt’s entire career is amazing. She was an outspoken civil rights activist and just an utterly good person. I remember hearing news of her death on the radio during a roadtrip and crying silently until we reached our destination.
I was shook when she died strong intelligent and just plain incredible. She had a voice and used it for good. It hurts my heart hearing the things she had to go thru
She was like our eclectic auntie. The one that gives you the best damn advice of your life, sees you question everything that you thought you knew, and then gave you the warmest hug while jokingly calling you an idiot for being emotional but you know it was all love.
not to get wildly specific but you know that feeling of euphoric vindication you get when you’re driving the correct speed and someone is riding your ass trying to intimidate you to go faster and you don’t do it because you don’t believe in living your life recklessly to appease other people so they get in the next lane over so they can speed up in front of you but karma grabs them by the throat and they get stuck behind someone going under the speed limit so they have to drive back behind you because you’re an adequate driver and you know what you’re doing and you can feel the guilt + shame permeating their vehicle as you just continue listening to your music of choice and safely heading towards your destination like lmao i would die for that feeling
